Location of the proposed activity: The research territory for the construction of Laflora wind park is located in Līvbērze rural territory, Jelgava municipality. Research territory includes land parcels (or parts thereof) with cadaster numbers 54620060273, 54620040049, 54620040048, 54620040047, 54620040053, 54620040029, 54620040021, 54620040005, 54620040001, 54620040027, 54620040025, 54620040026, 54620040016, 54620040028, 54620040020, 54620040024, 54620040031, 54620040059, 54620040058, 54620040023, 54620040052. 54620040052.
Reason for initiating the environmental impact assessment process: Decision No 5-02/8 of the State Environmental Bureau of 4 June 2019.
Description of the proposed activity. The construction of the wind park is planned in the territory of Kaigu peatland, where the peat extraction process has been completed, or it is planned to be completed in the near future. The planned location of wind-powered generators covers both the peat extraction area and the adjacent forest territories. The model and technical characteristics of wind turbines to be installed are not specified yet. Simultaneously with the planned construction of wind powered generators, it is planned to rebuild or improve the infrastructure necessary for the construction and operation of the existing wind turbines – access roads, construction fields, energy transmission and telecommunication lines. The constructed power transmission cable line will be connected to the sub-station in Ganību iela 86 B in the Jelgava city.

The announcement on the initial public consultation was published in the newspaper “Jelgavas novada ziņas” No10 (164) of 18 June 2019.
The initial public consultation meeting will be held on July 3, 2019, in the hall of Līvbērzes Kultūras Nams, Jelgavas iela 17, Līvbērze, at 5:30 p.m.
