Additives are incorporated into Laflora's peat substrates according to formulations prepared by the University of Latvia's Institute of Biology to promote optimal development of the cultivated crops:
- Sifted peat fraction. Depending on the intended use, a fine, medium, or coarse sifted peat fraction should be selected.
- PG Mix. Combined mineral fertilizers that provide the necessary nutrients for plants.
- Liming materials. The pH level (soil acidity) is regulated with liming materials – limestone and dolomite powder.
- Instant. To ensure even moisture distribution in the peat, Laflora adds wetting agent Instant to all produced substrates.
- Clay and clay powder. For the improvement of water capacity and optimal supply of nutrients.
- Perlite. Improves air exchange in the roots of the plant.
- Micronutrient additive. Additional magnesium and other micronutrient additives for healthy plant growth.
- TensoFe. Additional iron supplement to promote color stability in plants.
- Osmocote additive. Complementary fertilizer that provides nutrients. Its effectiveness can last from 1 to 14 months.
- Hydrogel. Attracts, retains, and maintains moisture levels in the peat substrate by preventing water evaporation.
