The certificates issued by the Latvian Peat Association certifies the quality of the peat extraction process, the extraction sites, and the peat products, as well as the environmentally friendly use of peatlands. The certificates are renewable every three years.
Peat extraction is conducted in accordance with the Use of subterranean depths licenses issued by the State Environmental Service of the Republic of Latvia.
