Quality
- Peat Extraction Certificate. Issued by the Latvian Peat Association, this certificate confirms the quality of the peat extraction process, the extraction sites, and the peat products, as well as the environmentally friendly use of peatlands. The certificate is renewable every three years. Certificates can be viewed here.
- Substrate Registration. Laflora's products are registered with the State Plant Protection Service of the Republic of Latvia in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 506.
- Peat extraction is carried out in accordance with Use of subterranean depths licenses issued by the State Environmental Service of the Republic of Latvia. Licenses can be viewed here.
- Environmental Impact Assessment. Before starting extraction, an environmental impact assessment is conducted, and technical documentation and a recultivation plan for land use after peat extraction are developed. The State Environmental Service of the Republic of Latvia issues Use of subterranean depths licenses.
- Control of the peat extraction sites. The peat extraction sites are controlled and regularly inspected. All technological process standards and safety requirements are adhered to, and the quality of the harvested peat resource is controlled.
- Peat cleaning. During the production process, peat is cleaned of impurities (stumps, roots, etc.).
- Products are manufactured on automated production lines, precisely following formulations for peat substrates prepared by the University of Latvia's Institute of Biology or specific client formulations.
- Testing of the products. During the production of peat products, tests for pH, electrical conductivity, structure, and moisture absorption capacity are conducted. Product tests are repeated after 24 hours and 10 days.
- Archive. Two samples from each substrate batch are stored in the archive for two years.
- Packaging control. The volume of packaged peat substrates is controlled according to the Latvian standard LVS EN 12580:2014 for soil improvers and growing substrates.
- Finished product area. The site can simultaneously store up to 400 truckloads, ensuring planned logistics and constant product availability for customers.
- Individual consultations. At the Laflora production facility and Laflora Sales Area, every customer receives individual consultations on the selection of the most suitable peat product.
- Export logistics service. At the production facility, loads are weighed using truck scales, and customers are offered quick, automated documentation preparation.
