Educational program on responsible peatland management

Every year, Laflora organizes free informational and educational events, lectures, excursions, and seminars to promote public understanding of the principles of responsible peatland management implemented by Laflora. Participants are introduced to the processes of peat extraction and processing and the sustainability aspects adhered to, as well as the peatland recultivation program carried out after peat extraction.

The events are attended by employees of state and municipal institutions, ministry officials, policymakers, representatives of organizations, students, and pupils. On average, about 300 people attend these educational events annually.

These events are also included in the "Telmatology" (the science of peatlands) course at the University of Latvia's Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences.
