How to use
Video Tutorial – How to prepare Laflora gardening peat products for use.
- Loosening: Loosen the densely packed peat substrate from the package by hand or with a suitable trowel, layer by layer.
- Moistening: Thoroughly water the loosened peat substrate with clean water, which is very well absorbed.
- Planting: Plants can be transplanted after 2-3 hours (depending on the size of fractions).
- Feeding the Plants: Watering and fertilizing intervals should be adjusted according to the individual needs of the cultivated plants.
- Sowing. For seed sowing, fine-grained peat substrates (0-7 mm) are typically used (taking into account the individual requirements of crops).
- Pots. For growing young plants and seedlings in pots, medium-fraction peat substrates (0-20 mm) are typically used (taking into account the individual requirements of crops).
- Container seedlings. For growing plants in containers, coarse-grained peat substrates (0-40 mm) with higher water absorption capacity are used.
- Mixing and incorporation of the substrate. Ready-to-use peat substrates should be mixed with leaf compost or fertile garden soil in a ratio of 1:1. Spread the mixed substrate evenly on the planting site and incorporate it into the existing soil.
- Mulching. Peat substrates for plantation mulching can be used directly from packages.
- Microclimate. A favorable microclimate is determined by optimal regime of light, temperature and humidity.
- Determine the composition of water. Water contains various substances, so it is very important to determine the chemical composition of irrigation water.
- Basic condition. The components of peat substrates require an appropriate moisture regime. Excessive watering should be excluded.
- Correct. Peat substrates should be stored in dry, cool places, protected from direct sunlight.
- Incorrect. Products should not be stored in warm, humid places, such as a greenhouse. The composition must not be changed arbitrarily, as this may affect the development of the plant.
- Open products. The purchased product must be used immediately.
- Prepacked products. The shelf life of the prepacked product is 12 months. Peat products can be used for soil improvement also after the specified expiration date.
